Asteroid 25413 Itokawa
This GIF animation shows the movement of asteroid Itokawa during a period of
about 1.5 hours. Itokawa is the target for Japanese
Hayabusa (formerly known as
Muses-C) space probe, which will arrive at the asteroid in June 2005.
Images are 20s exposures taken with the ALFOSC in R band
(the brightness of the object was 18.3mag in R). The field of view is ~5'.
