The contract with the Royal Observatory Edinburgh for the detailed
optical design and opto-mechanical concept design was signed in Feb 97.
ROE are now well on the way with the design of NOTCam. Eli Atad of ROE
is working on the detailed optical design of the instrument and three lens
units (wide-field, high-resolution and pupil imaging lenses) and
completion is expected within 2-3 months. Peter Hastings of ROE will
start full-time work on the NOTCam opto-mechanical design in April 97
and, working with Eli, will produce the final mechanical concept design
towards the middle of 97.
More details on the optical design will be posted when available.
