Arguments[slit=<slitno>|xref=<x> yref=<y>] xstar=<x> ystar=<y> [xbin=<xbinning> ybin=<ybinning> xbeg=<x window begin> ybeg=<y window begin>]
TypeTEL
Short DescriptionCalculates the telescope offset required to bring a target onto a given slit and performs the required telescope offset. See the ALFOSC Sequencer Command and Script Reference for a full description.
Long DescriptionThis script is meant to be used remotely when the network is too slow for graphical applications. Calculates the telescope offset required to bring a target onto a given slit and performs the required telescope offset. The slit number <slitno> refers to the position of the requested slit in the ALFOSC slit wheel. Alternatively, an (<x>,<y>) pixel position can be given as reference. The script does NOT use any kind of image display. The star to be positioned on the slit is identified by it's x and y coordinate, using the xstar and ystar parameters. The xbin, ybin and xbeg, ybeg parameters are used for indicating the binning in x and y and the window start pixel in x and y. If not given, these parameters will all default to "1" (i.e. full frame, no binning).
