Focus Fields

We provide two object catalogs containing stellar fields suitable for focussing the telescope:

focus.cat: 326 fields (FOV ~1.2 arcmin), homogeniously spread across the sky, containing between 5-10 stars in the magnitude range 13-16.

focus_bright.cat: 230 fields (FOV ~1.2 arcmin), homogeniously spread across the sky, containing between 3-5 stars in the magnitude range 10-12.

Note: Last column in the catalogs refer to the number of stars in the field, not any kind of magnitude.

To use the fields from focus catalogs, either

  • Load the full catalog into the TCS, i.e read-catalogue focus.cat.

  • Add specific fields only to the TCS catalog (enter-object, direct TCS terminal object input,..)
