P66-811: Companions for lonely planets

P.I.: Martin Kuerster

This is a Monitoring program using FIES.

We aim to extend our successful precision RV monitoring program for a sample of stars with a previously reported single planet.

Instrument setup

  • FIES

  • High-res fiber F4

Instructions for Monitoring observations

  • Run afternoon calibrations: fies-calibs -fib 4

  • At night, go to directory: cd ~/obs/scripts/66-811/ and do ls -lrt

  • Start the requested OB generated script.

66-811 2023-06-24 00:29 Mon HD168746 FIGf240095 - FIGf240099 HD168746 was observed with clear skies. Seeing was good, below 1 arcsecond. However, issues with Stancam meant that we are not sure about the target position with respect to the fiber center. Because the exposure meter was counting seemingly normally, the OB is marked as completed for now. The rest of the observations could not be completed due to ongoing problems with Stancam. Observed
