P68-104: Classification and analysis of eruptive young star candidates

PI: Z. Nagy

This program is a Monitoring program using NOTCam J-, H-, and K-band imaging and spectroscopy. For NOTCam spectroscopy, see How to run NOTCam spectroscopy OBs manually.

Instrument setup:

  • NOTCam: WF-camera, Grism #1, 0.6'' slit, filters J (#201), H (#203), and K (#208).

Daytime calibrations:

  • NOTCam differential skyflats WF-camera and filters J (#201) , H (#207), and K (#208).
  • notcam.notcam-calibs NC**** in the morning after the observations.

Monitoring schedule

Date Target Execution time

28-10-2023 Gaia20eax 1 h 40 min
08-11-2023 Gaia20cdl 2 h 30 min
20-11-2023 Gaia20eax 1 h 40 min
14-02-2024 Gaia21ebu 2 h 35 min

The OB generator will be used to request all observations.

For the observer:

Go to the directory
  cd ~/scripts/68-104
List the available scripts
  ls -lrt
and execute the OB generated script for the appropriate date as requested.

See observer's Guide to NOTCam Spectroscopy OBs

68-104 2023-11-08 02:59 Mon Gaia20cdl, HD209932 NCGk080317 - NCGk080378 Target observed with clear skies, moderate wind, seeing of 0.7" - 1.0" Observed
68-104 2023-11-20 00:12 Mon none none We came as far as to acquire the target on the slit, but clouds then covered the sky, we waited for a while, but had to cancel the OB. Failed
68-104 2024-02-14 02:10 Mon Gaia21ebu, HD45137 NCHb140024 - 38, NCHb140039 - 79 Only J and H bands observed, but Ks band missed due to low altitude. Thin clouds and seeing around 1.0-1.5 arcsec. Spectra NCHb140039 - NCHb140044 were taken before closing for humidity, might be useful. Failed

The above information is collected from the ToO/Mon reports that have been created by the observer.

Should any of the observations have been carried out using the OB system, you will find additional information HERE
