P71-503: Superorbital variability of the Be stellar disk in LSI +61303

P.I.: Petri Vaisanen

This is a Monitoring program using FIES.

Instrument setup

  • FIES : Low-res fiber F1

  • ALFOSC : FAPOL, lambda/2, UBVRi

Afternoon instructions

  • Run afternoon calibrations: fies-calibs -fib 1

Observing instructions

  • On the Queue page, make sure the OB-generated observing script is written to disk, or else 'compile'

  • Go to directory: cd ~/obs/scripts/71-503/ and do ls -lrt

  • Start the requested OB generated script

71-503 2025-07-20 01:11 Monitoring BDp59389, LSI+61303, HD21447, ALIg200134-ALIg200193, FIIg200113 - FIIg200115 Observed with clear skies. Last target was partially observed in nautical twilight. Observed
71-503 2025-07-25 00:45 Monitoring LSI+61303 ALIg250175 - ALIg250194, FIIg250114 - FIIg250116 Target observed with clear skies and approx. 1.2 arcsec. seeing. For the FIES block, during first attempt, we had a ccd controller error. The exposure was canceled early and restarted. Registered as failed, but the first readout might still be useful. Observed
71-503 2025-07-28 00:46 Monitoring LSI+61303 FIIg280098 - FIIg280100, ALIg280104 - ALIg280123 Observed with subarcsec seeing and under clear sky Observed
71-503 2025-07-31 00:45 Monitoring LSI+61303 ALIg310148 - ALIg310167, FIIg310113 - FIIg310115 Observed under clear skies and seeing around 1". Observed
71-503 2025-08-02 00:48 Monitoring LSI+61303 FIIh020140 - FIIh020142, ALIh020097 - ALIh020116 Target observed with clear skies and seeing around 0.6-1.0'' seeing Observed
71-503 2025-08-06 01:01 Monitoring HD21447, LSI+61303, BDp59389 ALIh060165-ALIh060224, FIIh060086 - FIIh060088 Observed under dusty, but clear skies and good seeing. Moon 90%. Observed
71-503 2025-08-07 00:45 Monitoring LSI+61303 ALIh070154 - ALIh070173, FIIh070104 - FIIh070106, ALIh070182 - ALIh070201 During the observations, the conditions quickly became overcast, and therefore whole Alfosc group repeated as the sky cleared up rapidly again. For the fies group, a few thick clouds in the first integration. Otherwise observed with thin clouds, dusty conditions and approx. 1 arcsec. seeing. Observed
71-503 2025-08-11 00:44 Monitoring LSI+61303 ALIh110182 - ALIh110201, FIIh110107 - FIIh110109 Both observed with thin clouds and seeing around 0.8". Observed
