This is a Monitoring program using FIES.

Instrument setup

  • FIES : High-res fiber F4

Afternoon instructions

  • Run afternoon calibrations: fies-calibs -fib 4

Observing instructions

  • On the Queue page, make sure the OB-generated observing script is written to disk, or else 'compile'

  • Go to directory: cd ~/obs/scripts/72-508/ and do ls -lrt

  • Start the requested OB generated script

During the run of the first observation, we accidentally started a new script, but immediately interrupted it and do therefore not expect the data in the files FIIj100098 - FIIj100100 to be affected. This does however seem to have interfered with the data tracking. Please let us know if you notice any issues in the data. Observed

The lower hatch was closed due to strong winds during the first 45 minutes of observation, which may contribute with some vignetting. The observation was a little delayed due to a ToO trigger right before, so it had to carry on into Nautical twilight for completion. Observed
